Description These paintings depict roses with a butterfly, poppies, plantain lilies, hibiscus, bleeding hearts, and pear blossoms with white swallows. While the leaves are painted with swift strokes using light tones, the flowers and animals are brilliantly colored. These paintings showcase beautiful compositions and color with naturalistic depictions. Shin Myeong-yeon, a literati painter of the late Joseon period, created refined and sophisticated paintings of flowers.
