Stephanie S. Lee is an accomplished artist and educator dedicated to preserving and promoting Minhwa, traditional Korean folk art painting. As the founder of KoreanFolkArt.org, she provides comprehensive resources and training for individuals passionate about this cherished art form.
A DOE-registered teaching artist at the Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts, Stephanie has led workshops for diverse audiences, including public schools, libraries, community centers, and corporations. She has also conducted Minhwa workshops at esteemed institutions such as the Smithsonian Museum, Princeton University, and Cornell University, expanding the reach of Korean folk art to broader communities.
Stephanie served as the New York Regional Director of the Korea Minhwa Association for six years and has been invited to speak at prominent institutions, including the Newark Museum and Queens College. She has collaborated with prestigious organizations such as NYFA, QCA, Flushing Town Hall, and the Chenven Foundation, where she served as a voting panelist for an art grant. Additionally, she has contributed as a juror for an art contest organized by Weill Cornell Medicine and The Korea Times.
Stephanie holds a BFA and MS from Pratt Institute and has studied Korean folk art painting at Busan National University in Korea. Her work and contributions have been widely recognized, with features in WNBC News, NY1 News, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
