Each four-week series provides a progressive learning experience designed for both new and experienced painters.

Attend one live 90-minute Zoom session each week and complete two finished Minhwa paintings while developing your understanding of traditional Korean painting.

What You’ll Create

PROJECT 01

Beginner Painting

Build confidence by learning essential drawing, coloring, and brush techniques through a simple composition.

PROJECT 02

Intermediate Painting

Expand upon your foundational skills by creating a more detailed composition using additional traditional Minhwa techniques.

This progressive approach allows beginners and experienced painters alike to build their skills while creating beautiful finished artwork.

Materials Included

A complete materials kit is shipped directly to your home before the first class.

  • One traditional painting brush
  • One palette
  • Two practice sheets
  • Two pre-drawn practice drawings
  • Two ready-to-paint final drawings

Students Will Need

Please provide your own watercolor set. We recommend a basic 12-color watercolor tube set, which is affordable and widely available online.

Please also have the following ready:

  • Water cup
  • Paper towels
  • An additional brush for blending

Live Class Schedule

Choose the weekly session that best fits your schedule.

The same lesson is taught twice each week. You only attend one live session per week—either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Every class is recorded, allowing you to review lessons or catch up whenever it is convenient.

Holiday Schedule

Lotus Series +

Thanksgiving falls on November 26. There is no Thursday class that day.

Thursday students are welcome to attend the Wednesday, November 25 session. Students who are unable to attend will receive a recording of the lesson.

Chaekgeori Series +

Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are avoided.

Thursday students will meet on January 7, 14, and 21, ensuring that everyone receives all four live lessons.
